MOSES

Baby Moses
(tune"Yankee Doodle")

Little baby Moses
In your basket bed,
Do not fret and do not cry;
Your sister is nearby.

While the water gently rocks
You must go to sleep.
Hush, don't cry or you'll be found,
My little baby sweet!

Helper Song
(tune: "A Tisket, A Tasket")

A helper, a helper,
I will be a helper.
I will help like Miriam did,
And I'll be pleasing God.

Songs from "Thy Children Shall Be Taught of God"
"The Burning Bush"
(tunes"Mulberry Bush")

Up on the mountain Moses went,
Moses went, Moses went.
Up on the mountain Moses went
To see the burning bush.

It burned and burned but didn't burn up
Didn't burn up, didn't burn up.
It burned and burned but didn't burn up
It was so strange a sight.

God spoke to Moses from the bush,
From the bush, from the bush.
God spoke to Moses from the bush
And said, "My helper you'll be."

"The Ten Plagues"
(tune"Trust and Obey")

Down in Egypt one day
Moses spoke to Pharaoh,
"God has sent me His people to lead.
Let them leave from this land
Where they've been for so long;
Let them go, let them go, today."
Pharaoh said, "No!"
They cannot go!"
And so God sent ten plagues
Upon Egypt and Pharaoh.

First the rivers to blood,
Then the plague of the frogs,
Next the lice, then the flies, then murrain.
Then cam boils, then cam hail';
Locusts brought by the wind,
Then a darkness that covered the land.
The tenth plague was worse;
It brought death to the land.
And so Pharaoh told Moses,
"Take your people and go!"

Praise Him, Praise Him

Praise him, praise Him,
All ye little children,
God is love, God is love;
Praise him, praise Him,
All ye little children,
God is love, God is love!

Love him, love Him,
All ye little children,
God is love, God is love;
Love him, love Him,
All ye little children,
God is love, God is love!

Thank him, thank Him,
All ye little children,
God is love, God is love;
Thank him, thank Him,
All ye little children,
God is love, God is love!

Baby Moses

Moses' mother took a basket,
Made it like a boat;
Put the baby Moses in it
Safe inside the boat.
Float, float, float, float,
On the river did float.
Baby Moses safe inside the boat.

Rock the Boat
(tune: Here we go 'round the Mulberry Bush)

This is the way we rock the boat,
rock the boat, rock the boat
This is the way we rock the boat,
of little baby Moses.

"Ten Plagues on the Land"
(tune"Ten Little Indians")
by the teachers at Monta Vista church of Christ

One plague, two plagues, three plagues on the land,
Four plagues, five plagues, six plagues on the land,
Seven plagues, eight plagues, nine plagues on the land,
Ten plagues on the land.

First came blood in the Nile,
Second came frog by the mile,
Third came lice for awhile,
These were the plagues on the land.

Number four was buzzing flies;
Fifth the Pharaoh's livestock dies;
Sixth came boils of every size;
These were the plagues on the land.

Number seven was fire and hail;
Eighth came locust over hill and dale;
Ninth came darkness like a veil;
These were the plagues on the land.

The saddest plague was the first-born died.
Pharaoh's people cried and cried;
Pharaoh let God's people go
Because of the plagues on the land.

Moses, Moses
written by Ruth Hale

Moses, Moses was the leader
Of God's people the Israelites;
And he led them out of Egypt,
To the Red Sea deep and wide.
"Moses, Moses, you must save us,"
How they cried in awful fright,
"For the Pharaoh will o'ertake us,
And we'll surely die tonight."
Moses calmed the frightened people,
Held his rod away up high,
Made a dry path through the waters,
Saved God's people, the Israelites

The Golden Calf
(tune: "Mary Had a Little Lamb")

Thou shalt have not other gods, other gods, other gods.
"Thou shalt have not other gods."
God's first commandment said.

Make yourselves no idols, no idols, no idols.
"Make yourselves noo idols,"
God's next commandment said.

The people made a golden calf, golden calf, golden calf,
The people made a golden calf
And said it was their god.

Moses saw what they had done, they had done, they had done.
Moses saw what they had done
And threw the tablets down.
