Teaching aids, Resources, and Equipment

Here are some of my favorite teaching aids, resources, and equipment.

Resources

  1. Old Testament Bible Story Patterns and New Testament Bible Story Patterns Reporducible books by In Celebration (Division of Instructional Fair Publishers)
  2. Gospel Light's "The Complete Bible Story Clip Art CD-ROM"
  3. 50 Bible Paper Pop-Ups 3-D Visuals for Hands-On Learning Fun Developed by Robin S. Parimore Illustrated by Lynne Marie Davis
Equipment

Although I wouldn't call any of these items required, they are handy and add fun to children's handwork, I use mine regularly.

  1. Laminator - A must when making craft-stick puppets that last more than one class for toddlers and pre-schoolers. Check ebay or other auction site for good deals. Also, Walmart or a craft store might carry small laminators at a reasonable price. Michael's craft store often runs a 40% off coupon and carries laminators.
  2. Sticker maker - Some laminator's have this option, but it increases the price dramatically. This is a wonderful and fun (and cleaner) option to glue, especially for younger children. I bought mine in a children's craft box set during the holidays when a crafts store ran them for 50%

Other helps

  1. Sticker paper - Watch clearance sales at office supply stores. I've found sticker paper for $1. a box - stock up.
  2. Homemade Lick and Stick Glue
